down nmwh's way, they got some beautiful convention spots in Galveston TX. Easy access from Houston airport, cheap drinks, beauty hotel on the beach.

I can see it now...."uhh, honey, I'm going to Texas for a few days, yeah just me and the girls...no not those kind of girls, a buncha super-cranky moms who are going to get drunk and hurl abuse at me for three days...no really, it's kind of a "parenting seminar"

I'd bring my wife, except for the (embarassing admission to follow) fact that she is Team Cake.

If it happens I will host the opening night reception. There will be punch and pie.

I would love to go to Texas, never been.

besides... it's not a very pretty city. all the historical interesting touristy stuff is in the crap part of town and WAY to close to east st. louis for comfort... I ain't tryin to get robbed or raped....
