I'm totally at a loss. My sis in law just had her 2nd baby boy, and I can't think of what to buy for the baby or for her.  I'll get something to keep the 2 year old nephew busy, but what can I get for a baby gift?

Any cool new things to make her life easier?

Hm. A Bumbo chair? A Boppy? A collapsable exersaucer. 6-9 month old outfits. DIAPERS and WIPES are always appreciated.

A gift card for a day's worth of babysitting, to include laundry and dishes.

A stroller cover -- accessories for something she already has, or something that she didn't get last time that would make her life easter.

A bottle of gin.

Freaking love it.

I don't have to pay attention and remember when the hell I fed the baby last.

Also, when I pass him off to dad and he takes over all he has to do is look at the timers to see when he last ate, how long he's been asleep, when he last had a diaper change.

Gah that's  apain. I had a little notebook but my baby daddy never used it...and I'd have to ask and he didn't REMEMBER...in fact, he also never rinsed the bottle or make a fresh one for next time (he's still ike that).

Man, I should let that go but it's such a sore spot with me...
<deep breaths and remember that he may not do it my way but it does get done...
or not...

My husband still thinks that there is no way for only one of us to bathe the newborn.  We always tag-team the baby when it is bath night.

Also, our system is: one person feeds the baby/puts him to bed and the other person washes bottles and makes new bottles for the next day.

I had such an advantage over my friends whose husbands didn't do squat because I learned from their constant complaining; my husband had no idea what to expect or what to do, so I just broke him in and gave him the rules.  So far he thinks all of this 50/50 is normal.  And I love it!

mine knows what to do and all...but he's kinda helpless when it comes to certain things as far as...getting lana "dressed"....oye the outfits he can put together... Shocked he can change a diaper, give a bath, and make a bottle with the best of them. But he's just never here to do any of that so I just got used to doing it on my own without him. It's a nice treat when he does step up...but like I said, he's a workaholic. (by necessity really)

That reminds me: isn't it easier to dress girls? I figure a little dress and then it's easier to change a diaper rather than the onesie and pants get-up.

Or am I being naïve?

My little girl is a pain in the ass to dress.  I also don't like putting dresses on girls when they're crawling.  So in that period it is not eaiser to change a diaper.  I also usually but little shorts or bloomers on her.

Sorry, did I just ruin your theory?   Cheesy

Shoot, mear. I did ask for it, though. I can imagine a little girl trying to crawl and getting caught up in a skirt. DUH!
