I just wanted you to be aware that there are bcp's out there that are inexpensive and do not have to be covered by insurance.  Cheesy

Can I ask what made you change your mind about the armpit thingy?

I still kinda want it. Sad

But my insurance won't cover it because it's too new and can be linked to birth defects.

I'm so glad that I don't have to worry about this.

I wish my doctor would put me on Yaz/Yasmin.  It has drospirenone, a third- or fourth-generation progesterone equivalent, which in plain English means that it is an anti-androgen (binds to free testosterone in your body).  The end result, other than the contraceptive benefits?  Less acne, less facial hair - so really good for those who have to manage crappy symptoms of PCOS.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome; an endocrine issue where the brain is a dipshit and doesn't send the correct amounts of hormones at the appropriate times to make a normal cycle.  The ovaries of someone with PCOS are typically 'dotted' with little black dots, which are primary follicles that didn't either A) develop into mature ova or B) got stuck in the ovary and could not get released.  People with PCOS often have difficulty getting pregnant and typically do not have regular cycles.

What fFruity said, but there's much, much more.

Man, if I had time, i could write a book on this. I know about PCOS (there is more fo a collection of symptom that don't include ovarian cysts: thelutenizing hormone to folicle stimulating hormone ratio, the hirsuitism (sp?), the insulin resistance...

But all we have to identify are separate symptoms right now...there's no definitive diseast to treat.

Yeah, it is definitely way more complicated than that.

I thought the Cliff Notes version would suffice.
