Has anyone sold stuff on Craiglist?  I really need to unload several items that are not being used so I can fill my coffers with petty cash (I'm on a strict budget due to not working for 8 months, so having a little 'fun money' would be nice).  We have a BUNCH of stupid stuff that is unused/unopened and I figure someone out there could get some use out of it.

Things I'm thinking of putting up:
all my maternity clothes
(eventually) all the baby stuff - although I might try to garage sale it?
a hoover floormate hard wood cleaner that got used once
brand new leaf blower still in original box
bar/drink fridge
a crapload of kitchen stuff that never gets used (glasses, bowls/platters, etc.)
and so much more - I need to streamline our place and get rid of stuff that's taking up room

So - how do you Craigslist?  Or is there a better way?

I've sold a bit on craigslist.

You just list your stuff.  You don't have to put your email address or phone number in the ad.  When people reply to an ad, it ends up in your email.

CL is awesome!  I've sold most of our old furniture through it.  Monica is right, they dont see your email until you reply to them (I might sound like a snob but I dont reply to really bad grammar and misspellings)  Grin .  I usually post detailed pics and as much info as I can.  This way those that would contact are most likely to be serious in buying them.  For smaller items, I asked them to meet me at a parking lot so that they wont know where I live and can be less picky in selecting a buyer.

I love CL! I just sold nearly $400 in furniture this weekend.  I leave my cell phone number, and I judge people by how they sound on the phone.  (Difficult to do in 30 seconds or less, but I've feel pretty good about most of my judgment calls.) I had to have the buyers come into my home to pick up furniture, and I made sure my husband was home.

On occasion, if people ask if I'm home during the day, I'll say something like, I'm getting ready for a big police officer's dinner at my house, so today's not a good day.

I sell cheap.  My stuff is cheaper than most others, and I believe that is why it sells quickly. In my experience, if it doesn't sell quickly, it's not going to sell at all. (Why oh why does no one want my SkipHop Duo Double Delux Diaper Bag?)

Tip- don't promise to hold items unless you have a pickup time/date set. You'll get annoyed when you have other potential buyers calling when you've already promised it to someone else.

Good luck.

Have you had success selling say, baby clothes or maternity clothes?  Do you sell them in a 'lot' and what would be the best way to present a 'lot' (size, type of clothing like pajamas/onesies, a lot of brand name items, etc.)?  Or, would it be better to garage sale certain things?

I've never bought anything off of eBay and have only traded diapers for formula coupons with Austin (he outgrew some diapers, so I figured why not get $5 coupons for diapers I wasn't going to use?).
