while checking for an update on the plane crash, I read this article...

wtf - am I wrong to assume that the principal is an idiot...

I remember reading a similar story regarding toy guns and a kid was arrested for having a lego person holding a gun...I mean cmon...what "lesson" are they trying to teach here?

Zero tolerance policies are not a reasonable solution for anything.  To say that "any student found doing (insert list of undesirable behaviors here) on the premises may face disciplinary action up to, and including, expulsion" should be sufficient.
