I like the comment too, Fae.  Any reliable study would include those factors. I thought this one was just as valid:

You have two parents instead of one. There. What about the the kids of lesbians who have broken up? Those kids probably act out just as much. I say all this as someone who was raised by a single mom (who did a damn good job but did have a great support network around).

It's interesting how quickly the importance of this study gets sideswiped by arguments like "Well, only wealthy people can afford IVF," or "Lesbians are less likely to get knocked up by a boy at prom."
Yes, this is all probably true and valid and worth considering. But this study is a BFD because for years, close-minded homophobes have argued against gay marriage and adoption "for the children" and the only response available to reasonable people was to say, "Oh, well, this is really the first generation of kids adopted by gay people. We'll see what the statistics say in a few years."
Well, statistics are in. Gay people are above average parents. You lose, homophobes
