was googling about vasectomies and this ad. was on top :

Need Sperm Donor Urgently
www.conceptfertility.com.au      Reimbursed $75 Per Donation. 18-50 Years of Age. Enquire Now Perth.

yay ! so that is how we can pay for it :) althoug i think the pot smoking may put him out of the running for paid donations . Stopes has quoted $450.0 but they are a couple of hours drive away and that may be uncomfortable for Brad . Although the clinic IS close to my parents nudist club location , so perhaps i could convince Mum and Dad to pick him up from procedure and let him convalesce in their cabin? Dad had the snip years ago so should be sympathetic.

we have a referrel for a local Urologist , but they can't see him until oct. and no snip until Feb . so will ask for a quote at Oct. Appt. and if they are too expensive talk to the parents :)

i rang the urologist , was not sure if they would give out the info ..but they are only $175. via the local public hospital (5 minutes away from home , where all my babies were delivered ) that is why waiting list until Feb.
So decisions have to be made ...save money and wait as well as closer to home ? (and i take the kids out of the house every day for a couple of days ) or spend money and get in within a fortnight and have my parents care for the sore man ?
i am impatient , but i think we may be waiting. I received a nice tax return payment , but it is about equal to the cost of Bella's orthodontic work . My insurance refund from her orthodontic work will be $465. . but i am going to have to miss work to go to three appointments in three weeks with her , a day off work for Trinity's next day surgery and then a weekend of missed work for brad after his snip. the insurance refund will be sorely needed for living costs .
Guess we can ask family for $ for Christmas to pay for the Feb. procedure .

mine was free. Yep, socialist medicine is really good at separating a man's testicles from the rest of his body.....

Fae, I am sure you and you're husband have talked this through, but I have to say: IN THE LONG RUN I WISH I HADN'T DONE IT!!!

It was 12 years ago. I regret it. PM me if you want the real reasons.

i feel content with three :) also with Brad studying full time , us living in govt rental housing / kids sharing bedrooms  etc. We can not afford any more .
By the time Brad finishes studying and we manage to get some savings behind us , time is not gonna be on my side . It may hit me in about 5 years time when the youngest starts school .

Well 3 is a great number. I like having 3.

My snip coincided with the first year of (totally broke) home ownership and the beginning of my wife's long (5 year) winter of SAHM discontent. I expected, foolishly, that it would launch an era of fabulous recreational sex. Dumb man. Long story short, I ended up feeling like a resentful neutered pet. A ghost dog. In the long run my wife agrees it was a bad decision.
So the advice is: keep the channels of communicatio wide open. And be clear about what it means.

thanks GD . to us it means that when we do get the rare chance to have sex we are not going to have to fearfully practice withdrawal or other methods of lovemaking for fear of a surprise pregnancy. I don't have the option of being a SAHM ,if we had any more children then Brad would have to leave his studies to look after the kids. having him stay at home with another baby , leave school and me have to work and miss another child ? it would kill us Sad
It was bad enough when Brad was laid off just after Trinni was born and then signed up to study. I was going to stay home with the kids and study myself and often resent that i am working , doing most of housework and failing my studies so i can pay all the houshold expenses and his study fees.
there is no guarantee of a fabulous job or great money once he finishes studying and although i could earn more money in my field of work , it often means split shifts with early starts and late finishes where i don't get to see the kids .
With trinni needing extra care for a number of years and Bella needing to travel for her new school we are going to have a lot to focus on looking after the three children we have .
I doubt we will be able to find time to have lots of all out sexathons , but at least if we have a quickie it will not be a , "oh crap , pull out" quickie.
with my history of problems with pills , we both agree that we don't want to go back down the path of messing with my hormones . Having my tubes tied would mean me missing work (and the main family income) and associated health risks . Although my family has a history of early menopause , we don't want to wait until then to be able to make love in a vanilla way .
OK , so i know there are alternatives and i am sure we have both enjoyed everything BUT ...but i miss being able to look my husband in the eye when he climaxes and not risk being shot in the eye .
